...I went to to the doctor for by bi-weekly prenatal appointment.  The doctor said that my blood pressure is a little too high, with a little protein in my urine, and that I have gained too much weight since my last appointment (8 pound in just over two weeks).  I have been asked to take a week of bed rest and to do a 24-hour urine collection ( Read more... )

Many hugs and prayers for you, Troy and the baby. Not to sound flip, but the baby is far enough along that should she be ready to enter the world, she'll come out hollering and singing. It sounds like the doctor is taking good care of you and won't let the condition get out of control. It's right that you follow her advice. Let Troy be the gift God sent you and cherish his thoughtfulness.

You remain in my thoughts today and everyday.

Love,
Angel

Thank you so much for your thoughts and prayers. I think you are right, but it does make me nervous...

We had planned to adopt, but surprising got pregnant before we even began the adoption process.

I had a doctor's appointment yesterday, and things are looking a little better. Well enough that the doctor is going to allow me to do a trial run at work for the next 3 days. (I get to see my students in their Halloween costumes!) I have another appointment on Monday, and we will see if we need bed rest for the rest of the pregnancy. I loss 5 pounds since last Friday, most of this is due to water retention. I do still have a little bit of elevated protein in my urine, but it is not severe. My blood pressure is back down to what it usually is for me. Because all of these are better signs than they were on Friday, I am able to go to work. I can not be on my feet more than 15-20 minutes at a time. When I am home, I am supposed to be on as much bed rest as possible.

Thank you so much for your prayers and thoughts!

Hello. You don't know me. I saw on Patty's Journal that you were pregnant and to pray for you. I will do that right now. I pray that everything will go well for you and your baby.
My daughter, Laura, is a little over 26 weeks. She had two miscarriages within the last year. Has no other children. She is pregnant now with a little boy. She had to have a cerclage (stitching) done at 20 weeks, though, and is taking progesterone shots to prevent pre-term labor.
So I know what it is like to be scared and worried. God is good, though, and I pray that everything will be well for you.
