I predicted this, and it happened.

The people of Kansas are not dumb. This marks the second time the creationists have gotten on the school board and the second time the citizens of Kansas have dutifully told them to shove off in elections. It's not so easy to win school board elections when you're not running unopposed, is it, creationists?

Apparently, I can get published again soon. Neato.

In other news, we have a new candidate for Dumbest Person of 2006. Someone on the internet (where else?) recently asked, "Why did Leonardo di Caprio leave clues to his belief in his art?"

Apparently, I get my name on another paper soon if I can brush up on my linear algebra well enough to solve a problem with a program. The catch? I have one week to do it.

You know what I hate about applied math books and papers? I hate how authors tend to think we can all memorize dozens and dozens of symbols that have no meaning outside of the particular paper we're reading. I finally got around to reading the entry in the Uncyclopedia on Korea. It turns out that it's actually somewhat funny in places. Yeah, some of it is offensive, but there is some genuine humor in there, of the sort that only someone living in Korea would pick up on. Somehow, I got sucked into reading Slashdot, and I'm enjoying the rantings of a poster who believes quite firmly that the set of real numbers does not exist, based on his misapplication of Skolem.

I switched my previous entry to "private," and I might delete it entirely, since the people I mentioned put their emails in the comments. I do have a few questions to ask at some point, so I'll get around to that.
