[Matt's first impulse is to contact the poor kid and see if he'll accept the help he clearly needs, but he understands as soon as he connects the dots that this is Fai's--okay, not Fai, but Matt still thinks of him that way--to do.
Matt remains fascinated by family, by siblings, how an accident of birth can create a bond like this, but this is different from most families. This is a connection their world called a curse, and yet. And yet there's so much love between them.
He sends his message knowing they'll both see it.]
Hey. I'm Matt. Lemme know if you two need anything, okay?
[Matt's reply, like the one for Vincent, comes later than the ones preceding it. Seems Fai's been brought "home," though he probably couldn't find the house from the front stoop, let alone on a map. It looks like a very traditionally styled Japanese room- the dining room, if you look sharply enough.]
Oh. I'm...My name is Fai. [Ye gods why are people here so nice? Don't they know anything?]
[He grins, a bit shyly, because it occurs to him sometimes, like now, that he can say that about a lot of people here, when there was only ever one person he could really call a friend at home.]
And, um. I know it's not really the same, but some people from my world and me came from really different times, so I kinda know how weird that feels.
[Fai just blinks at Matt, staring stupidly. He hasn't the slightest idea what this person is saying. Different times? Weird? It was different, but he didn't know what time had to do with it.
Most of the difference had to do with that people were...
Who in their right mind welcomed a pair of twins? Even twins that were made so different as they were? After a moment, Fai's gaze wanders up, away from the camera pauses there, then warms.
It doesn't matter. Yuui is Yuui, regardless of where or how old.]
Oh. I see.
[You're a strange creature, Matt. Stranger than you know.]
[Oh, right, Fai might not know why people seem familiar with him already. Matt clicks over to private.]
I kinda knew who you were already. One of the fu-- screwed-up things about Kannagara is that dreams can get broadcast. And, um. I figured some stuff out from seeing what your brother dreams.

It's alright, Fai.
[Soft laughter rings from across the room, as well as the faint sound of dishes clinking. A moment later, Yuui appears behind his brother with an all too cheerful smile curving his lips as he reaches over his twin's shoulder to set the warm cut of soup on the table.
And then his hand shifts over to the Hitomi.]
Like this.
[He shows his twin how to set the conversation to private, winks at his brother.]
We set the conversations to private like this, or else anyone with a Hitomi can listen in on the conversation. As for you, Matt, [Glancing at the Hitomi, he continues cheerfully.]
Play nice~
We didn't have technology quite like this in Valeria, so Fai's starting from scratch. Let's ease him into the knowing as he gets stronger, hm?
[He flushes a little, retroactively self-conscious about having corrected his language.]
I wasn't gonna swear in front of a little kid.
And it's only fair to warn people, right?
[He's not going to get into monsters, or the gods fucking with people, or the trouble the locals can cause, better now, but Matt's still wary. He knows if there's any way to keep little-Fai safe from those, Yuui-Fai will do it.]
Fair enough, I guess. I was just waiting a bit to introduce him to the finer points of the Hitomi.
[Still, there's no real bite to the words, because he does understand Matt's intent. And more importantly, he appreciates the fact that Matt has done so. Even so, Fai's strength right then isn't much - he's far too weak and malnourished to be up for much of anything - so he settles in more comfortably beside his twin and props his chin on his palm.]
For now though, I think he needs to eat a bit more before he falls asleep on me again. Do you mind terribly if I raincheck on that dinner, until Fai's feeling well enough to join us?

But at that, he blinks. And again, because it's so strange. He'd started to say...oh. Oh!]
It's okay. I already know all the angry words.
[Wait. Wait one second here. What?]
Yuui's dreams? You watched them?!
[His voice cracks and his face does an interesting little dance of unhappiness. Stay out of our heads!]

[He gives a little 'goodbye' wave, not wanting to intrude on their reunion any further.]
