I'm awake - I've been awake since 2:30 a.m. I'm starting to think that maybe it's ok that I only need 5 hours of sleep. Sometimes the universe tells you you're on the right path when everything goes your way...

Why do some things better in theory than in practice? What gets lost?

I would go from being so happy and free to so scared and isolated. Just like that.

Others around me talk about their melancholy. Guess what? I get that way too.

Sinking into depths of sadness every once in awhile or is it most of the time? Or does it matter?

I can't believe I will be living in paradise in a month (more or less). I'm glad I'm starting to get excited about the possibilities of my new residence and the experiences yet to take place. Three or four glorious nights of uninterrupted sleep, punctuated with beautiful and animated dreams.

And now this.

Awake at 2:01 a.m.

Wind howling.

I'm going to crawl back into the queen bed with my most favorite blanket ever and try to muscle through this restlessness.

Two weeks ago, I subbed for my teacher. It was an intro class. One man showed up. He was 70 and in pain. I did my best with the lesson plan I had...

Last night, I subbed for her again. He came back.

"Is M* teaching tonight?"

"No, I am."

"OK. I think I'll pass then."

He left.

Ouch. Rejected!

At least he had the guts to do it face-to-face. Ha.

Sometimes it feels strange to feel this way. This melancholic ennui. For no reason really. I'm just sick of it all...maybe it's the coming down from vacation/training. Maybe it's the stupidity of other people. Or my own stupidity ( Read more... )
