6,800 people got infected today

I was looking at the news today and there was a little thing on the edge and it said, every day 6,800 people are infected with HIV. That means 6,800 people are putting others at risk for catching HIV. 6,800 people will more than likely develop AIDS and have their bodies loose it's primary defense against the environment. 6,800 people who for the ( Read more... )

Unfortunately virus's, by nature, adapt quickly to new pressures, meaning that they adapt quickly to vaccines and treatments. There have been many many failures along the way in the rush to develop a vaccine, and just recently at the Keystone Conference, leading researchers in the field started a much needed conversation on how the research needs to go back to the basics. Due to the complexity of the virus, it has become very obvious that we just don't know enough about the basic nature of HIV to effectively battle against it ( ... )

I just read on Hillary Clinton's website in regards to her plans on dealing with HIV. "Clinton has pledged to increase funding for the global HIV/AIDS fight to at least $50 billion by 2013."

That's awesome!!!
