Unfortunately virus's, by nature, adapt quickly to new pressures, meaning that they adapt quickly to vaccines and treatments. There have been many many failures along the way in the rush to develop a vaccine, and just recently at the Keystone Conference, leading researchers in the field started a much needed conversation on how the research needs to go back to the basics. Due to the complexity of the virus, it has become very obvious that we just don't know enough about the basic nature of HIV to effectively battle against it

I just read on Hillary Clinton's website in regards to her plans on dealing with HIV. "Clinton has pledged to increase funding for the global HIV/AIDS fight to at least $50 billion by 2013."
