yeah, that's kinda how i see it all going down. jack being careless because he doesn't have anything better to hope for. lureen being careless because she's ready to move on and she loves jack and has hopes for a nice life. nobody wins. *sigh*

This had a very realistc feel to it, with compassion for both their situations and POVs. I was thinking as I read that this was probably just what it'd have been like for them, - not perfect, but muddling through, hoping for the best.
