odd predicament

Hello all, I am in a bit of a twist. You see there is a company party for Mel Cottons this sunday, and I had signed up to go, I would like to attend, it sounds fun, free food etc. Only a few hitches 1, I want to go do something else that night, 2 I am suppose to bring another person, "preferably not a sibling" and frankly I am not sure who to ask
