Yes, indeed. First there was a *pounce* -- she did pounce, it was quite visible, wasn't it? and THEN there was the nuzzling. Don't recall that specifically from the book, but it's good to know at least SOMEONE's picked up on the right chemistry. :P
I've decided it's best for me to enjoy the film as it's own entity. The movies will never live up to the books, which doesn't make them bad, just different. :)
That seems a very sensible approach to me.
I've decided on reflection that a lot of my frustrations are because I'm an adult watching a film primarily intended as mass entertainment for children. The beauty of the books is that they are multi-layered, and fascinate us and 10 year olds alike, but the Hollywood film approach cannot leave things open like that and is therefore forced to choose an overt interpretation and ignore the others. Thus more special effects (sometimes quite cool ones I must admit) but less plot. *le sigh*
I think you're on to something there. We have to take the movie for what it is: a children's film. As an adult lover of the books, it's sometimes hard to do that.
Sorry to clog up your regular journal like this, but I'm in love with your booga bags. Where could I find the pattern for them? They look like tons of fun to make!

Oh there was nuzzling.
Yes, I'm feeling a little incomplete with the lack of backstory, but overall, I did enjoy it. :D
