Pursue the 100 mysteries related to KAT-TUN
Be hit by the ‘Lies Truth’ of the 6 people who are whispered to
Popolo sheds light thoroughly on the truth of the various rumours surrounding the members! From their work to their private lives, the 6 people answers the 100 successive questions using ○×△. Discover everything you want to know about KAT-TUN here now!
Nakamaru Yuichi
Mystery 34: It’s been 9 years since I had black hair.
○: I think it has to be around there. I don’t have to colour it so I’m comfortable and I myself want it to be black. Though there are people who say I look old but more say that I got younger.
Mystery 35: I have a human beatbox instructor.
×: I’m self educated! Well, I think I’ll improve much faster if I have someone around me who does it. Even now I’m doing it while researching; I still have lots to discover and self-education is fun too.
Mystery 36: My favourite part of my body is my hand.
○: Because I’ve been praised, I myself like it too. My fingers have been said to be slender and long. Perhaps it’s because I’ve been helping out, since young, to carry heavy shopping bags, so my fingers lengthened (laughs).
Mystery 37: I’m bad with injections.
○: Though I hate them, if I set my mind to it, unexpectedly, I can deal with it (laughs). But I don’t want to be injected for nothing. It’s probably because my nerves are sensitive.
Mystery 38: I used to get 5 for art all the time.
×: I drew a lot as drawing, rather than art, is my forte. Well, they were just doodles. That was fun and as I didn’t have much of an interest in proper art like sketches, I’m certain my grades were around 3.
Mystery 39: There was a time when I was hooked on Korean.
○: It was around the time when KAT-TUN was doing volleyball. I had an interest in Korea, where I went for the first time for work and studied so that I could speak the language.
Mystery 40: I appeared in ‘Together with Mom’ when I was little.
○: I was holding on to Jajamaru’s belly button. I don’t know if I was short or if Jajamaru was tall, but as Jajamaru’s protruding navel was right in front of me, I held on to it tightly (laughs).
Mystery 41: I’m concerned about my younger sister’s boyfriend.
○: As an elder brother, I am concerned. It’s fine if he’s reliable, but if he’s weird I wouldn’t want him. But once, the encounter was awkward (laughs).
Mystery 42: I’m interested in eco-issues.
○: It’s because I’m studying about them in university now. Lately, I found out that Japan is the number one user of tissue paper. The amount of food we throw away in Japan is no joke too!
Mystery 43: Kamenashi kun was the first member I spoke to.
△: It’s either Kame or Akanishi. I spoke to Kame when I got the meeting place mixed up. I asked for his family name about 3 times as it was a rare one.
Mystery 44: My cell phone’s vibrations wake me up in the morning.
×: Though I use my cell phone during live or when I’m on tours, I use an alarm clock when I’m at home. I’m the type who’s used to extremely noisy sounds.
Mystery 45: I like electrical appliances.
○: I love them a lot. Not just televisions, I have ice servers and bought a shredder, the large office-kind.
Mystery 46: Instead of a nail clipper, I use a file.
×: Though I also use a file at times, I don’t use it each time my nails get a little longer, like girls do (laughs). I’ve always used a nail clipper from a long time ago.
Mystery 47: Lately, I started going to the gym.
×: Although I have trainings due to drama (RESCUE~) filming, I hardly go to gyms. But for the drama, I participate in the training with the real rescue squad.
Mystery 48: I’ve already outgrown piercings.
○: In the past my parents were against it, and though I thought it’d definitely be impossible since I’m not good with needles, if the tension that came with debuting starts……It didn’t suit me (laughs).
Mystery 49: I’m an indoor person.
○: Although I love the outdoors too……I’m an indoor person. As I made my room comfortable, my stress is relieved just by being at home. I want to go out but I like my house anymore than that (laughs).

I’m studying at university!!
Lately I’m really busy with university modules. Though the theme is quite difficult, it’s the research on various things that’s tough. The other day I had to hand in a report on ‘Structures that Form Frost Columns’. I was like, ‘what on earth is this?’ when I heard about it (laughs).
Tanaka Koki
Mystery 50: I’m particular about my accessories.
○: I was really fussy about the standardization of gold in the past. Recently, instead of piling on the accessories, I enjoy using a cheap ear stud among the expensive ones.
Mystery 51: I’ll definitely wear handmade items.
○: I’ll definitely wear items I made myself. Because, after all, I want it and it’s something I made for myself. I really liked remade shoes so I wore them for a long time.
Mystery 52: I cut my own hair.
○: I basically cut my hair myself since I had them shaved. And I used the stationery kind of scissors (laughs). Rather than not liking others to cut my hair, it’s because I can agree to doing it by myself.
Mystery 53: If I had a different job, it’d be a ‘construction worker’.
○: That’s right, that’s right (laughs). Since middle school, I wanted to be a construction worker or an adventurer. They were cool and I yearned for them. In the end, I couldn’t be anyone of them both.
Mystery 54: All my brothers have one-kanji names. [kanji: Chinese characters in written Japanese.]
×: As my elder brother was the only one named by my grandfather, he doesn’t have only a single kanji for his name. I heard his name (kazunaru) means to ‘become number one’.
Mystery 55: All my pets are males.
×: I have mongrels, Chihuahuas, toy poodles, and flying squirrels as well and they’re all females. The reason is that I like girls (laughs). No, actually it’s because I want them to have children if possible.
Mystery 56: Unexpectedly, I’m an avid reader.
○: I read both mangas and novels. Moreover, I’ll definitely read in the bath. I soak in the hot water for 30 minutes as I read.
Mystery 57: I’ll always give the members birthday presents.
×: Unfortunately, I couldn’t give Ueda his in 2008. I give thought about everyone’s presents every year but it’s difficult to materialize (laughs). Now I think just saying ‘Happy birthday’ is enough.
Mystery 58: I was very much mistaken for a girl when I was young.
○: It seems I was mistaken a lot and even for a female foreigner (laughs). I’d go somewhere else immediately and even if I looked for my mother, I would be found soon as people would say, “Because he looks like a foreigner”.
Mystery 59: I’m bad with long phone calls.
○: Basically I can’t do that. But it’s ok if I make the call myself when I’m super free or when I can’t sleep. By the way, emails are also troublesome so my replies are super short to the point that I sometimes get asked if I’m angry.
Mystery 60: I’m easily touched.
○: I think I probably like being moved. If I’m touched and cry, my stress is relieved too (laughs). I’m moved by books or movies, and recently am watching ‘Moving Animations’ on my computer.
Mystery 61: I like Taguchi kun’s puns very much.
×: Something is lacking (laughs). But to KAT-TUN, this kind of ‘thoughtless act’ is indispensable. But if he does it outside of work, actually I’ll say, “I’m fed up with you!” (laughs)
Mystery 62: I’m a small eater.
×: I used to be one. But when I go back to my parents’ home for a long time, I changed after eating a lot. I even ate a 400g steak and a large serving of rice easily.
Mystery 63: Having neatly aligned teeth is my pride.
○: Having neatly aligned teeth is really my pride (laughs). Even my dentist praised me. However, I have a shaky tooth as the nerves were removed and it’s really a nuisance (smiles wryly).
Mystery 64: I’m thinking of going back to a shaved head.
○: This depends on my enthusiasm or mood. But this time when I shave my head, it’s because of work and got permission from the jimusho (laughs).
[jimusho: office, but in this case, johnny’s of course.]
Mystery 65: I was the one who named Tanakamaru.
○: At first it was only ‘Tanaka’, taken from the ‘Ta’ in ‘Tanaka’ and the ‘Naka’ in ‘Nakamaru’. But because Nakamaru said, “It’s not much”, I followed the ‘Morning Musume.’ style and added ‘Maru’ like they have ‘.’
Mystery 66: I’m the type who will certainly use emoticons in emails.
×: I don’t use it 100%. I’ve said this before; emails are troublesome. That’s why all the more I won’t use emoticons.

My photo was taken
I went to a steak house and anyway I ate a lot. And at the time I took a photo with the owner of the shop, a pro-wrestler. For the first time in my life, someone asked me, “Excuse me, please take a photo together with me!” (laughs)
Taguchi Junnosuke
Mystery 67: I keep a household account book.
×: I don’t. My parents do. But I don’t keep proper track of my own monetary expenses. But I don’t waste money as well.
Mystery 68: I’ve come to be able to eat peppers.
○: I’m still bad at eating them raw now, but I can eat them if they’re pan-fried or seasoned. In the past, it was no good no matter what but since I became an adult I’ve come to be able to eat them.
Mystery 69: I want to try going blonde again.
△: I’m fine with colouring but if possible I’d like to try red or something aside from blonde. But I’ll go with black for the time being. Blonde is alright because of that role (Bidou Granmanie).
Mystery 70: Right now, my greatest concern is billiard.
○: It’s not my greatest but mostly yes. The momentary passion has cooled off but I feel like I will play billiard for the rest of my life. Now, making songs or designing myself is also interesting.
Mystery 71: I accumulate photos of food taken with a digital camera.
×: I probably did this around 2 years back. I was just when I got my digital camera and I took photos of anything.
Mystery 72: I’m left-handed.
○: But I only use my left hand when writing or using chopsticks; I hit or throw baseballs, etc with my right. I have more power in my right hand. So to be correct, I’m ambidextrous.
Mystery 73: I like myself.
○: You know, this is incriminating evidence (laughs). But everybody likes themselves more or less, don’t they? It’s sad if I hate myself.
Mystery 74: I learnt tap dance when I was young.
○: I learnt it from an instructor. I danced for quite a long time so I can do it even now. But I could only learn. That’s what learning is. You should study what you want to do.
Mystery 75: The PC is a necessity.
○: Though I don’t walk around with it all the time, I’ll definitely be troubled if I don’t have one. I play games one it and do research with it, and I can’t imagine a life without a PC. This is the only thing that permeates through my life.
Mystery 76: I was named after the literary great, Yoshiyuki Junnosuke.
○: It seems like so. Since I didn’t ask for the reason, I think it’s a supplementary matter (laughs). It’s not like our family is into literature. But I don’t hate this name.
Mystery 77: I’m still growing taller now.
×: Expectedly, I’m not (laughs). But as people’s spines stop extending as they become adults, you may grow a bit taller if you correct your bones.
Mystery 78: I did a record 13 consecutive back flips before.
○: As I remember flipping quite a lot, if there’s such a statement it’s probably true. All of us used to compete with one another. Now it’s impossible. The conclusion is being young is great.
Mystery 79: I actually think that Ueda’s physical beauty is great.
○: For now (laughs). The other day, I went to Ueda’s solo live and he showed us his bare upper body liberally. You can’t do that if you don’t have confidence in your physical beauty! If you box, you’ll get that kind of body.
Mystery 80: Up till now, I’ve not gotten into a quarrel with any member as I’m gentle.
×: When we were still kids in 2000 or 2001, I reckon we often argued over trifling matters. But I basically don’t like to quarrel much.
Mystery 81: I played games for 24 hours straight previously.
×: Even if it’s me, I don’t do that. But I’ve played till I won for online games. I have other interests as well.
Mystery 82: It’s OK if my trousers are not rolled up.
○: It’s OK for normal trousers. But I wear suits. To match the person, you have to make it long. But excluding suits, I know my size so generally it fits exactly.
Mystery 83: I’ve been said to ‘zone out’ a lot.
○: Though I don’t think so myself, I’ve been told that frequently. I don’t understand why it’s so. I’d like the top undergraduates, such as those from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, to get to the bottom of this (laughs).

I had a 3-person overnight trip with people my age
I went on an overnight trip with Kame and Koki. Though it was very fun, something big happened to me. While I was in the car, I was really feeling great so I rolled down the window and my hat flew away. It was the first time but I want to go somewhere with them again.
Akanishi Jin
Mystery 84: I was selected for soccer in middle school.
×: I was selected at the Ward level in primary school. The positions were forward and goalkeeper. I played soccer everyday.
Mystery 85: I’ve a cold personality.
×: Eh, what is it…… No, I don’t have a particularly ‘cold personality’ as far as I know and there are no special countermeasures as well. So I think it’s probably wrong (laughs).
Mystery 86: I don’t miss my training everyday.
×: Right now, I’m not doing any special body training at all. But I’m quite sure I did this 2 to 3 years ago.
Mystery 87: I can understand foreign movies without subtitles.
△: This depends on the work. If it’s mostly everyday conversation then I understand but I don’t understand various accents and technical terminology.
Mystery 88: I play with Yamapi once a week for certain.
△: We’re not playing now. There are also times when we meet a lot and it depends on the period. We’ll meet if we’re both free; it’s the timing. But it’s not like we have to meet no matter what. We somehow go with the flow.
Mystery 89: I’m not good when people touch my collarbone.
○: My collarbone are extremely ticklish. I’m perfectly fine with places like my tummy, which is a usual ticklish area for others, but why am I bad with only my collarbone? I go fidgety when touched there.
Mystery 90: I’m shy in front of strangers.
△: I’m like that during work but it’s different in private. I mean, everyday I really meet loads of people at work so I get confused as there are too many people. But usually it’s not like this. I’m more likely to be friendly.
Mystery 91: I went to Atami with Nakamaru before.
×: …… Have I been to Atami? There has to be some misunderstanding. I went to Kyoto with Nakamaru before. Though I forgot what led to that trip, it was 5 or 6 years ago. I’d like to go to Kyoto again.
Mystery 92: I was good at my studies in primary school.
○: I was relatively good. But it was primary school so it was easy and I could do everything. However I can’t remember if it was As or 5s or some other grading system.
Mystery 93: I donate a lot at convenience stores.
○: It’s not like I go there to donate but when I buy something and I get small change, I’ll drop them into the donation box. Though it’s not that great a thing, it’s my thought of doing something small.
Mystery 94: I have a fetish for lips.
×: No, I don’t really have a fetish for lips. Did I say something like that? …….. I forgot. If you ask me the same question now? “Not really” (laughs).
Mystery 95: I can’t deal with netted tights.
○: I myself don’t know the reason but I somehow can’t deal with it. Patterned tights or coloured ones are alright. But not netted tights. It’s vague, but this is what it means by a person’s likes and dislikes.
Mystery 96: Actually I like kids.
○: It’s not actually, but I like kids. I want kids early and it’s better to have more. Because it’s very fun to play together with them.
Mystery 97: There are many musical instruments at home.
○: I don’t have a lot but I have related stuff like computer software for composing music or intruments. I’m almost the same as a person who likes music.
Mystery 98: I’m the type who can sleep anytime, anywhere.
○: Although it still depends on the place, I can sleep during shooting intervals. Though I’m often said to be able to hear soft sounds, I’m not that sensitive.
Mystery 99: I often sing in a loud voice before I realize it.
△: Not so much at work. But sometimes this happens at home. It happens the most when I’m playing with my friends. Somehow I break into song normally. When I’m having fun, I sing (laughs).
Mystery 100: Unexpectedly, I’m usually considerate.
○: I am considerate. Though I look blunt, my friends have told me that I actually act on considerations for others. I think so too (laughs).

I’m in the middle of a movie shooting.
Recently I’m shooting for the movie ‘BANDAGE’! Although a movie and a drama are different in many respects, there’s a very comfortable atmosphere at the shoots. The cast and staff alike are having fun and as I think it’ll become a great work, I’m looking forward to it.
