1. Chris doesn't know the math either. I could have done a MUCH more thorough job of dismantling the bullshit that is the VAT. In part because a lot of those "embedded taxes" are use taxes and those are STATE taxes. Same with most of the AV taxes.

2. Audits aren't necessarily trigged by bad behavior. I hate to defend the fucker, but he's right, he doesn't have to do anything to get audited by the city/state. Regular occurrence around here. But on the flip side, auditors pay for themselves with the errors they do find. One of the few places where the government makes a profit on the employee's action. Auditors not only pay for themselves, but as many as 10 additional state employees.

3. You should see this guy's other adds. Frankly I think he's verging on sedition.

I was sitting there and thinking that those "embedded taxes" probably included some federal excise taxes, as well. And really, if these taxes suddenly disappeared don't believe for a minute that the corporations are going to give that money back to the consumer. They'll see it as pure profit ( ... )

MONTGOMERY, Ala. - A mainstream Republican rolled past a tea party activist Tuesday in the GOP runoff for a southeast Alabama congressional seat that Republicans hope to reclaim.

Montgomery City Councilwoman Martha Roby was drawing 60 percent in the unofficial count in the 2nd Congressional District GOP runoff Tuesday against Rick Barber, a former Marine who operates a Montgomery pool hall that hosts tea party meetings.
