Massiv problems

I have really never known the importance of backing up files. Normally when I feel a that a hard drive is going out, I'm able to buy another one and transfer the data before total failure. Not this time. One of the disks on the file server bit the dust and luckily for me, it contained ALL of my photos on it. Of course this is one of 3 or 4 ( Read more... )

EnCase is some software that does that type of thing - you might want to see if you can "find" a copy of it as it is not free.

i can't mount the drive to do anything with it so I think it's physical damage

What's wrong with the drive? If it's not physical damage, I might be able to do something with it. I've had some luck at data recovery.

I can't mount the drive to do anything. I get the clicking noise everytime I try to mount it. I also just tried the freezer method but I still get the clicking.

When you try to mount it, do you get anything from the OS or just "no drive found" ? If the former, you might be able to do something with it. If the latter... suck.

yeah i get the "DriveReady SeekComplete Error" and the little details that go along with that.
