Wow! Great story. I can't wait to read more. I love it how you made it that Voldemort is down in this one and basically changed how everything happened since you wrote Remus not going to Hogwarts. It's a nice change from the war with Voldemort. Sometimes he is just a pain. Keep up the great writing!

Actually I debated a lot over this - whether to have the war or not and whether to get Remus involved with the Order or not and in the end I really just wanted (perhaps unrealistically) to focus on their relationship and so I had to come up with a way to make Voldemort disappear.

I know what you mean about the belts and I can't explain it either... for me, belts are a very masculine thing (which is weird because women wear belts too, obviously) so maybe that has something to do with it, at least for me.
