Thanks for the Southern perspective. I'll have a chance to talk to TFA staff in New Orleans on Wednesday, so that'll help clear things up, too. It /does/ look (on a map) like I could live quite close to some of the potential schools, but others would definitely require a car.

We'll see! EEEEEEEEEE

And it's Kate, FTW!

Seriously, how could you doubt that you'd get in? They'd have to be pretty stupid not to take you. For realz, yo.

Training in Phoenix? I'm so very very sorry...This is a horrible place. I'm not sure if I'll be living here this summer or not. But if I am, visiting! Also, lodging potential.

Actually, these days it's statistically harder to get into TFA than a lot of top-tier colleges. (Ha! I'm finally vindicated against Harvard! ...or something.)

If you're still in Phoenix (WHY?), we will suffer through it together.

And thank you. :-)

Woo, congratulations on getting in! I agree with the prior commenters, New Orleans is not a cyclist's city--but you've got plenty of time to get confident with driving. (Just remember, once you've learned Portland driving, that drivers in the deep south are MUCH CRAZIER.)

This sounds so exciting. Count me as another person who will so totally come down and visit!

The idea of transitioning to a Deep South mindset is pretty crazy at the moment. I keep forgetting New Orleans is, actually, right in the middle of Deep Red America.

Count me as another person who will so totally come down and visit!

YAAAAAAAY!

Also, thank you. :-)

everyone has a story about either their, or some foreign, drivers being much, much worse than the drivers You're Used To. I think you'll be okay.
