Depression

Writing that word is certainly easier than saying it out loud.

First of all, thank you to everyone who commented on my last post. It’s nice to know that some people out there are listening, and that a few of you may have even been through something similar.

I phoned the doctors this morning. My friend said that I should ask if any have a specialist ( Read more... )

Oh, honey...I don't want to belittle this and say I know how this is.

I have been where you are. I almost recommend not editing this, print it out, and take it with you. If you can't find the words to describe or find yourself candy coating, just read this over or hand it to the doctor to read if you want to say anything aloud.

Thank you, I think I will definitely write some sort of list of my symptoms for the doctor. Just in case I forget or can't work out how to say stuff.

This is the exact same thing I was going to suggest. I found it so much easier to type the words than to speak them. I think my psychiatrist must have a book written by me by now with all the journal entries I printed and brought to him!

What a hard place to be in. I feel bad that I didn't know. Hopefully opening up about it here will help in some small way. I'm keeping you in my thoughts, and I'm always here if you need someone to talk at/to.

Don't feel bad that you didn't know. That was the whole point, I didn't want people to know.
Although, I realise that I will have to start telling people, and that is really difficult. I don't know how.

Thank you.

good for you for getting this out. I'm sorry that you're having to deal with something as hard as this, but I am SO so proud of you for pursuing treatment. It's such an important, vital, momentus step, and it's really really a big deal for you to finally say 'enough'. It means you're willing to fight for a normal life, and you'll have all of us to help you along the way!

You're right. It is the biggest and scariest step. It's starting to affect my daily functioning now so something really needs to be done.

I am fed up of feeling fed up!
