So sad to read that Alan Arbus, who did such a wonderful job as the psychiatrist Dr. Sidney Freedman on M*A*S*H , has passed away at the age of 95. Godspeed, Dr. Freedman!

The cast came off on Tuesday..Dr. said the leg looked totally healed and now it was time to rehab. So I start PT on Thursday next week. Still a bit stiff when walking but I can ride the exercise bike again, so I'm happy. Plus, I was able to take my first 'stand-up' shower the other day...no lawn chair, no leg wrapped up like a left-over. And a ( Read more... )

I'm walking again. Well, sort of...I can't bend my broken foot at the ankle, so I'm kind of swinging my leg forward with each stride. But now I can get up and refill my drink without having to ask the Mr. to do it for me. And get around the house to take of things, like laundry and making the bed. The Dr.'s visit today went very well. I have a cast boot (actually a sort of rubber-sandal type thing) and now I can put weight on my broken leg. According to the X-ray's, the pin and the plate are still firmly fixed where they are supposed to be, so now it's time to try walking on it. being able to Skype now and seeing the grandkids! My wonderful DIL gave us a webcam for my birthday and my equally wonderful SIL installed it for me last night. ...a new cast on my leg. The one they put on last week had sharp areas on the inside..probably because the tech put three layers of colored fiberglass on my leg and when she bent my foot up so it wouldn't drop, some of the inner layers got bent inward and when it all dried, were very sharp ( Read more... )
