Jail Time for Saggy Pants

In Flint, Michigan an old law is finally being enforced that will require residents to check the sagginess of his/her pants. That's right. In Flint, residents can be put in jail for saggy pants. You can check out the article here.

So, this began a little debate in my home amongst my father, mother, and sister who is a mother of two. They agree with

That is really strange. I mean unless there ass is actually showing and not just their boxers I don't think it's a crime other then one of fashion.

Yeah, I agree. If your ass is showing, that's one thing, but the boxers? What? I hate it, but it shouldn't be against the law.

I bet if the people effected by the law registered to vote, there would be a different story on the front page of the local section.

I totally agree with what you wrote! I, too, hate the style, but absolutely believe they should have the right to wear what they want, provided it isn't full on butt showing. I think it is great how majority rules in this country, but don't think the majority should make rules that affect the minority. Really, does some guy wearing his pants like that affect me too much? No. It would be different if the majority was greatly affected by what the minority wanted, like legalizing murder or something. Who decided to begin this law again anyways? I doubt it was by popular vote, though that would be an entertaining election. "Did you vote baggy or not baggy?"
