If you were a sixteen year old girl and your brother was trapped in a world only accessible through a mirror, how would you get through the mirror?

Seriously - give me some ideas.

you'd have to hold another mirror up to the one that is the portal. i say the only way to get into the world is to pass through the reflection of the portal.

Of course!

Have you been stepping into mirrors again, Jackie?

Vodka! I may or may not be starting my end of summer session I celebration early....ignore me.

On a more serious note, to stage it.....this is tricky...there has to be some kind of portal, a charm, a trinket, a magic word, but stepping through the mirror? Will the reflection of the mirror be facing the audience? Because if you could stage it somehow so that the audience doesn't see the reflection.
Oh! Or maybe the audience could see the reflection of the mirror reflected through another mirror and maybe you can toy with lighting and music to make it magical?

oh! I like the idea that she has to hold up a compact or something. Maybe she could see herself in the reflection of the compact when it's aimed at the magical mirror? and it can suck her in somehow?

Hmmm - this is all very interesting. I like the idea of a word or a charm - but a compact, the double mirror reflection along with the use of the girly accessory (she's a teenage girl) - I'm not sure how to stage it all either but I'm the playwright, not the director. If I write, some director will have to figure it out.
