Nothing much new to say again. I was starting a big gardening project but the weather has turned so iffy today that I didn't feel like going outside and exerting myself in the sporadic drizzle and chilly wind so I've spent most of the time sorting out old bits of paper and wondering why I still had my boarding card from when we went to Tenerife and ( Read more... )

I think walking up hills is a definitely way to get fitter!

Moving was a great way to get rid of all those little bits and pieces you hang on to and really don't know why you bothered! LOL!

What is weird about that boarding card is that it really did seem to materialise out of nowhere. It must have got pushed to the back of a drawer and fallen out but why it was in the drawer in the first place is beyond me. I keep saying to J that we must declutter as if we were going to move house but without doing it in reality the impetus isn't quite there.

It was a particularly steep hill so I was pleased I could carry on talking :)

The weather has not been conducive to major garden projects... which is as good a reason for staying in as any I reckon!

It was lovely yesterday. My major project involves a lot of digging but yesterday I was too hot and today it was too cold. I think it will be a slow major project :)

My husband is thrilled with the garden this year. He's expanding it a bit and is happily growing seeds and putting in lots of flowers.

We did have a problem yesterday when a giant great blue heron showed up and was hunting in our little ornamental pond and our large goldfish. I ended up staying outside until dark and then my husband put barriers over the pond.

I look very much like my mom. Same nose, eyes, weight gains.

I love herons but I definitely wouldn't want them eating my goldfish.

We're growing tomato plants at the moment but it's unusually cold for April so we are delaying sewing some of our other seeds until it is a little bit warmer. I am really pleased with the bulbs I planted last autumn which are lasting well thanks to the colder weather.

I was once told I was a perfect amalgam of both my parents. In consequence I don't really look particularly like either of them!
