It would have been my mother's birthday today so Happy Birthday, Mum. We will celebrate with a Greek meal from Dishpatch and a glass, or several, of wine, which I'm sure she would approve of ( Read more... )

The weather started so sunny and warm didn’t it! We had laundry on the line and got all twitchy about it at lunchtime but it dried OK thank goodness.

Enjoy your Greek meal - we have curry ;)

The Greek meal was absolutely delicious and I am still full.

I did wonder if I'd been a bit rash going out without a coat but it looked so nice I decided to risk it. Taking a coat to the hairdresser is a bit of a palaver these days as at one point they thought it was better for us to put our coats in bags rather than touch other people's coats hanging up. I think they have relaxed a bit about that now but it still seemed easier without a coat rather than taking a large bag just in case I needed to stuff my coat in it.

It's nice the weather is cooperating for the Bank Holiday weekend.

The weather is forecast to cooperate for the weekend but whether it actually will do so is another matter :) We've had such a cold spring that any hint of warmth seems like a heatwave.

We had a tire swing in the backyard and down the street, there was a family with a small cliff in the backyard where we could pull up the tire swing and jump off. Kids are nuts.

Longest drive was New Jersey to Florida in one day - 22 hours. I HATED that drive.

New Jersey to Florida in one day! We took about 3 days I think and I was exhausted even as a passenger. I'm not surprised you hated it.

I'm horrified these days by some of the risky things we did as kids.

It really does seem to be a lovely weekend - at last!

I always envied the friend from up the road who had a swing in her garden. When I was a child it seemed to be such a big garden- then a few years ago the outer wall was knocked down and I realised it was really only a narrow strip disappearing into a point. It was probably not even as big as the garden we had at the time - but having a tree and a swing seemed very Enid Blyton to me!

Until I was 10 we lived in a flat with a communal garden where there was actually quite a lot of room to play but no swing so I envied a friend that had one. By the time we had our own garden I suspect I was considered too old for a swing though I would still have liked one!

The weather can't have realised it's a Bank Holiday weekend :)
