Keeping up with the meme

In another go at our eternal decluttering we have just sorted through our entire recipe collection torn out of magazines, newspapers and scribbled down on scraps of paper. At least half of it has now been consigned to the recycling bin but we did find some recipes that brought back memories, including my sister-in-law's tartiflette recipe. She made ( Read more... )

We also found J's infamous Sangria recipe which I think he also made on the same French holiday and was banned from making ever again. Everyone found it extremely drinkable... and then we all fell over!. Thanks for making me laugh loud enough to wake my husband from his nap! It's obviously infamous for a reason.

It is definitely infamous for a reason! It's delicious but completely lethal.

I start my shower before. Otherwise, the water is freezing cold and then boiling hot.

I long for the day when I can eat French food again in France.

So do I. Technically at the moment I can go to France but not come back (or not without 10 days quarantine).

I should have explained that our shower is over the bath, which is quite large, so I can turn it on and step back quickly to avoid the short burst of cold water.

I have a handy app that can take a photo and convert it into text so I can save favourite recipes. It’s saves a lot of time and of course is very useful to be able to search the list easily.

Your shower must be instant heat ;)

I should have explained that the shower is over the bath, which is large, so I can turn it on and step back quickly to avoid the very short burst of cold water. It does get up to temperature very quickly and has an anti scald cut off so it's never going to boil me.

I would be very happy with a handy app but J still likes a physical recipe.

I have got rid of some recipes like that - in my case it was if I've had them for over 10 years and still not made them :)

The sangria sounds excellent :)

The sangria is delicous, but banned :)

Having a recipe for over 10 years and getting rid of it if you haven't made it sounds like a good rule of thumb. Some of the ones we've kept may be subject to another cull quite soon.

LOL.

I'm not sure if I've ever turned the shower water on after.

Our shower is over the bath so I can step backwards quickly when the cold water comes out. It gets to the right temperature very quickly.
