Oops!

I've got a bit behind with the meme. My excuse is I had a minor mouth operation on Thursday, the details of which I will spare you as they make people wince. My dental hygienist, who had something similar done, said it was the most painful things that had ever happened to her, and while I wouldn't go that far, it certainly hurt a lot and means I am ( Read more... )

Ouch! I hope you feel yourself very soon and that healing is uneventful.

The Calabria region and City of Bologna are indeed beautiful. I've not had the pleasure of visiting them, but I have been researching a trip to Italy and those areas are definitely on our list.

Our IT specialist did something where we receive no prompts to use Edge. It's been wonderful.

Ouch is the word but I feel much better in myself now. Thanks :)

I've wanted to go to Bologna for years so I shall definitely be taking the lovely nurse's advice when we can eventually travel again. We both agreed that Rome is beautiful but mad and we both liked Sorrento. If you are considering a trip to Italy Sorrento is very good place to stay for a few days as you can do both Pompeii and a trip along the Amalfi Coast from there.

I am getting very good at ignoring prompts to use Edge!

We had a trip planned for the fall of October 2019 where we would begin in Sorrento, go to Rome, then an Agriturismo outside Siena in Tuscany, then Florence. Ugh. Something came up suddenly and we felt it prudent to cancel. It was a dream trip offering authentic experiences...no hotels. Considering Covid, I wish we had just gone and then dealt with the ramifications. My great grandparents both emigrated to the US from the Marcianise, Caserta, Campagna. We got refunds on all lodging except the guest house in Sorrento, but we have a credit. I had researched and learned a lot and planned the trip myself. It was heartbreaking.

Ironically, as Mike is mostly of Scottish heritage (we just confirmed), and since he is eight years my senior, we will most likely visit Scotland before Italy. He works so hard and deserves it. Italy will be second and we hope to see friends from Spain when we do.

That sounds as if it would have been a wonderful trip and I do hope you get to go to Italy eventually.

Scotland is lovely too, though the weather is sometimes a little less pleasant!

Sorry to hear about the surgery, but good news that it's all on the mend and you didn't have to wait too long for the procedure!

If you're happy with Zoom at least it's a good option if you like your teacher. I much prefer to be in a hall with the teacher - it's so much better for me :)

No little photos of baby Kathy at school LOL!??? I had to think whether there was one of me and that reminded me of the uniform.

I first went to the dentist about the problem at the beginning of March but as it wasn't urgent I was quite surprised I didn't have to wait longer.

I'm just hoping that Lisa has checked how good her broadband will be in Cornwall. I particularly enjoy Paracise which works well on Zoom so I'll probably stick with her for that. I don't know if she'll find a replacement teacher for our Pilates class as the hall is a problem, so it will probably be Zoom for that too. I might have a look around at other options but now doesn't seem a particularly good time.

Not one photo of baby me in school uniform. My parents were both teachers so a small child in uniform held no novelty for them, though I don't actually remember my first school having a uniform.

Ouch for the mouth surgery - but if it was improved by a nice Italian nurse that is a definite win!

Thanks. The word is definitely "ouch" but I'm looking on it as an opportunity to lose some weight through a liquid diet! The lovely Italian male nurse was certainly a win. When my mum was in the same hospital she had a lovely Italian male nurse too. I don't know what attracts them to this most un-Italian of areas, but they certainly provide some charm.
