A quiet week

Not sure where this week has gone really so have a couple of links before I crack on with the meme.

A fascinating survival of a doomed queen.

And

Another fascinating survival of doomed people. I've just been reading The Wolf Den by Elodie Harper, a completely engrossing, though not for the faint-hearted, novel about prostitutes in Pompeii, so ( Read more... )

I'm looking at question 11 and going 'I know that one!'

We wanted space; big enough for a dining table to fit the family if they visited, a kitchen big enough for two of us to be in at the same time, lots of cupboards, a bedroom we could keep all our clothes in and plenty of space aroundthe bed - and within reach of a bus route and local shops if possible. The garden and the sea view were rather excellent bonuses!

We've got the room with the big dining table though the table is rather buried by other things at the moment, only one person can comfortably fit in the kitchen, we haven't got enough cupboards, my clothes have spilled into a different room though we do have plenty of space around the bed - and we have excellent transport links and local shops. Unfortunately a sea view is not an option round here :)

Sleep is so wonderful. I once stayed away 30 hours just because we were flying to China via Japan and there was no place to sleep.

I love my kitchen because we have lots of cabinets and pantries.

I find it completely impossible to sleep on a plane, no matter how tired I am.

We have plenty of cabinets but sadly, no pantry. My mum had one and I don't think I appreciated it properly when I lived there as we could really do with one now.

The Anne bird is fascinating. I’d missed that.

I agree with you about poached eggs. Mr Cee has the knack but I never get it right …..

I can occasionally manage an approximation of a poached egg but J can't do them at all. Usually he's rather better at things like that than I am but poached eggs completely elude him.

My mum used to have a very old version of one of these but I cannot clutter up my kitchen with any more stuff that takes up space otherwise I would get one!
