I believe it is Wednesday but I'm not quite sure as it is one of those post-Christmas days when time seems to cease to have much meaning. I hope everyone had a lovely Christmas. Ours was very peaceful but we did go to my brother's house on Monday for a family do. It was wonderful to see everyone again and meet our new great-nephew H. H was born

Family history is quite frustrating as there are always question you wished you'd asked aren't there. My grandmother had loads of stories and we did go through her photos with her sometime before she died so we know who was who. We don't always know the relationship though....

I've inherited masses of family photos and I can identify a lot of them, mostly because my dad wrote the names of his mother's family on the back of *one* group photo. If it hadn't been for that I wouldn't have had a clue who they were.

I wish I had more of my parents reminiscences, too. There are still so many times when I think 'Oh, I must ask Mum, she'll know...'
