Stormy weather

I was peacefully doing some ironing upstairs yesterday while Storm Eunice raged and howled outside when I spotted a green bag whirling past our window. "That's odd," I thought "That looks like our green potato bag which we put in the shed yesterday to stop it being blown away." When I looked out I saw the glass from our shed window lying unbroken ( Read more... )

It was the worst storm to hit us here for about three decades! Luckily there was a lot of warning.

The sea is very dramatic isn’t it! I love stormy seas.

It was very windy down in Brighton today. Yellow warning of wind there.

I've never met a stormy sea I didn't want to photograph. We weren't expecting it to be so bad in Brighton on Wednesday but were delighted to see the waves :)

The pics look lovely, but sounds like scary conditions. Glad you’re okay.

Thanks. It was a bit scary and it is still windy at the moment but not quite as bad.

Yikes! Glad the shed stayed standing. My mum once had one blow away almost entirely - maybe about 10 years ago, I think. Well done on predicting the immanent collapse of the neighbour's fence, too.

I love the pictures. The sea makes such a good subject on a windy day - and the secret is always knowing where you can stand in relative safety :)

I was a little worried that the shed would be blown down as it is the one structure in our garden that still needs replacing. The neighbour's fence didn't need a storm to blow down as a puff of wind would have done it. I hope they don't take too long about putting it back up again.

I love photographing waves but I wouldn't want to go too close.
