I didn't make my 50K - just too many distractions in my life.

Note that I don't say "I lost". I have a 19,988 word start on a novel, after all, with characters I love!

I did about 4500 words today. Not enough, but considering I had to struggle with my back hurting all day long, that's not bad. I'm up to 17,882 now, which might change by the end of the night, although now I'm going to take a nice, long dinner break ( Read more... )

I made up my 2K. I don't feel any silliness or regret over my emotional meltdown, though. I think I had to get that out of my system. I'll still have to do almost 10K per day to win Nano, as tomorrow I go to Dallas to visit my poor roomie, so that will be a lost day. I don't see me winning this time, but at least the story is rolling and gaining

I just got a call from one of my very best online friends, coastal_spirit. She read the previous entry and dared to call me. It was the first time we've spoken on the phone, and it was not only fun, but it cheered me up a LOT. I'm off to try to get back my 2000 words now!

I'm behind in my word count and uninspired. Usually it takes me a week or so before I start thinking This story is the most useless waste of time ever. Yes, it's only Sept 27th, and already I'm planning my Nano novel. I started in October last year, and outlined, and that worked great. I never hit a mid-point slump. No, really!
