Does anyone have a resume template that they feel is exceptional and would like to share with me? I need a "Knock-Their-Socks-Off" resume, and none of the online guides are quite good enough (10minuteresume just ain't doing it).

Any help is needed and appreciated. Thank you!

What do you do? And what knock your socks off thing are you attempting to do?

currently, i don't do anything. hence the need for a resume. the only "special skills" i have are the ones i learned in college (no web type shit) and i'm pretty good at what i do know. i'm attempting to knock-their-socks-off so they will hire me.

it's all in the resume. it's just like a short story. if you don't grab their attention from the get-go and keep it...then you're not going to get hired.

But what are you supposed to do.

My point is, Zingy resumes get thrown away by me. I want something to the point. At the top, all the programs and software you use, next your work experience, then a phone number. Everything else I don't even look at. If I see at the top name, and education, and voulnteen charity bla tee bla, and what not, I am not goign to get to what I need to know and throw it away before I get to what I want. But I am in software...so it is different on what you want to do.

I find the most information in the easiest way to find it, is what I look for MOST in a resume.

as i have NO experience in ANYTHING computer related, that doesn't help.

what DOES help about what you said is that i need to make my "selling-points" high on the list to grab their attention. thanks, mikey.

do you want me to see if i can find a copy of my resume that my personnel agency did for me? it landed me a badass job with oxy! the key to a good resume is to keep it simple, 1 page preferrably but no more than 2 unless you're like some of these big whig geoscientists who have 5 page resumes listing all their corporate experience, international travel and published papers.

that would be awesome, jenni! some people are telling me to include a cover letter that details your objectives, while others say to keep it down to one page. i'd love to see a copy of yours so that i have a better idea of what to do. thanks!
