My last day at school was Friday. I gave a speech, went to 5 classes, said goodbye to all my students and cried several times during the day. I'm going to miss those kids something fierce. So the school secretary called the Board of Education who supposedly called the travel company who supposedly called Air Canada. So Kore is booked with Air Canada, or so they tell me. So I now have a ticket from Toronto to BWI and a spot for Kore. The Canadian woman on the phone with booking was very nice and helped answer a lot of questions for me. I got 2 hours of sleep last night. I found out from Canadian quarantine that sugar gliders (from Japan) are not allowed in the country, despite Air Canada's willingness to allow her on the plane. Every now and then I come up with this crazy idea that leaves everyone going "Do wha-?". My mother usually gets this look on her face, my friends usually laugh, Tina bites her lip in an effort to not laugh (sometimes she succeeds) or stares at me like I've grown a new head, and other have just shaken their heads in disbelief. Not much to post. My host sister from Kyoto is coming on Sunday to visit for a day and a half which should be fun. She's a city girl so seeing rural countryside should be interesting for her. Have I ever told you how much I LOVE Canada?! Air Canada said they could fly Kore to an airport in Canada. So now all I have to do is figure out how to get her from Vancover or Toronto into the states.
