Mom told me to blog about the new laptop. Unfortunately I'm at work and don't remember the exact model # so this won't have all the cool spec info...just what little I can remember off the top of my head. Urchin bought a Sony VAIO FE780. And she asked me to check out the tech specs, which are seriously awesome. Ok, so its not an Alienware machine but Urchin isn't that serious a gamer. I'm jealous, but then my desktop is s decent machine and I love my new Samsung SyncMaster 931BF, so alls well that ends well. Plus Tina is happy 'cause her desktop is dying.

Hmm ... there seems to be something missing from the above. I presume that this means that Tina now has your previous computer.

Does the new one have built in wireless, or do you still need a card for that?

The new one came with wireless. Tina's (the Toshiba) does not have wireless.

And no worries, I have little to no interest in Win Vista...except to say Asta la vista, Winny! (ok it sounded cooler in my head...)

OMG!!! OMG!!! OMG!!! That machine is amazing...I am so jealous. I agree with not upgrading to Vista...the crap I have been reading out it is not looking all that nice. White...I must say I agree with ya on that...hope it does not get dirty :'( Bye Bye HP you had good times. Though I am sure Tina will have fun with it. I did find her LJ and have been hoping she would update. I doubt she knew it was me that added her. But alas such is life. I hope she is doing well...she was into that rather interesting company the last time I saw her.

OK, to clear things up -
Urchin has a new Sony VAIO, Tina has the Toshiba Satellite for which we all originally set out to get a wireless network card and the HP is DOA with a display problem. Hey, Urchin & I got a lot of mileage out of the 2 HPs I bought, may they rest in peace. I've still got both machines and may try to swap the good screen onto the bad display model to see if I can get one good machine out of them. Otherwise I'll offer the parts on eBay.

LOL sorry, the HP got replaced a few months ago. It was good while it lasted. Mom's Toshiba was just holding me over until I found the right machine...of course the perfect machine was sold out, so I went for second best. It is an amazing machine though, so it didn't take long to grow on me. That and mom said she can get some design sticking things that will cover up the blah white. :) I am happy and Tina is hopefully happy as well.
