While exhausting it's been really pleasant having my parent around this past week. I never realized how strangely contained my room messes are until you have two other people taking up what little personal space you have. I completely understand what people mean when they say the summer here is worth the shit sodden weather of the Winter. I realized that for the first time in about four years or so I have not spent the summer in Texas. Boy, am I happy not to be there with temperatures hitting highs of 109 degrees. Michael Jackson is dead so to honor his passing, I watched a few music videos, took a nap and then went to a Karaoke bar in the International District with some friends to belt out our favorite songs. Also, Kitty and I did a rousing rendition of "Total Eclipse of the Heart" but with the literal video lyrics which was pretty good. People even helped ( Read more... )

Things have gotten to the point where even my mother is out having a beer a 2PM and mocking me as I struggle to finish up the last papers of my term.
