That makes me angry too! I get annoyed too! We don't care when people say Happy Kwanza to us, so why does it matter if we say merry christmas to them?! MERRY CHRISTMAS KATY!

I agree with you! That's so stupid! Uhhh some modern day ideas really make me angry. Since when has wishing someone a Happy Christmas or Happy Holidays been about religion? At least for me.. when someone wishes me one of those I'm not thinking about the religion behind the holiday, I'm thinking about the good thoughts and happy wishings behind the phrase.. Do I sound weird? That's what I think. Taking that away is stupid and political.

Apparently Central doesn't care about offending anyone or realizes that our campus is prodominantly Christmas-oriented. We have Christmas decorations everywhere: the residence halls, the library and the UC. We even call the semester break Christmas break. It's nice, and nobody (to my knowledge) has complained.

Plus Christmas is so non-secular now it barely relates to any religion. It's become so generalized with Santa and gifts and songs that have nothing to do with what Christmas started as.

P.S. My roommate is a pagan (she believes in the Earth/mother earth) and she is really gung-ho about everything Christmas.

see this is the time of year im happy im still in the christian dominated west side of the state, we havent had any problems and people are really getting in to the holidays, my door is covered in hot pink wrapping paper with penguins and it has a big bow in the middle. yay! i love christmas!! it's just the student center, where I work, that is doing that. Almost everyone's doors are decorated. Even the dinning hall has a tree and is playing Christmas music. I don't get why the Student Center is any different...it makes me mad though!
