New Voice-or Empty Vessel?

Does Meghan McCain represent a potentially fresh, new voice for the embattled Republican Party, or is she just another naïve, young publicity hound basking in her fifteen minutes of fame?

Opinions from both sides welcome. Please share your thoughts!

she represents the moderates in the party, but her father was also considered a moderate, and he lost the last election.

i wouldnt call her naive or a publicity hound, but she is young, and if she aspires to speak for the party or be a politican, she'll definately need to be more specific. what are the solutions that she thinks will bring the party back?

he lost most significantly because the economy absolutely tanked in the run up to the election, and mccain was nominated on the basis of his foreign policy credentials, not economic issues. but his loss, in the short term at least, does not help moderate voices within the party.

I agree that people should not make choices based on one issue, but I think I disagree with her comments about Ann Coulter. I don't think being "nice" is going to get us anywhere.

I think she's smart, ambitious, charismatic, gorgeous, and bound for a serious collision with reality. She's polishing the brass on the Titanic. While it's actually sinking.

From what she's saying I think she'll be happier with the Libertarians. I've been repeating this (probably ad nauseum) on various forums, I think the Libertarian party will replace the Republicans as the counter to the Democrats. I'm saying this as a liberal and as a Democrat.

Unless she expresses regret for having supported a candidate for president who pandered to enemies of the rights she now claims to support, I can't take her in the least bit seriously. This is someone who described Sarah Palin as being "really chill."

Sounds exactly like the internal bickering the Liberal Party in Oz is undergoing (a mate of mine is in the Port Melbourne chapter or whatever it's called)
