Oh Johnny, Johnny, Johnny...YOU'RE BREAKING MY HEART! To go over to the dark side and still have the nerve to build your home across the water from me is just too much to handle on this cold December morning.
Well, you see, I'm a New Englander who is loyal to this fabulous baseball team called the Red Sox. This means I absolutely detest this other team based out of New York City called *shudder* the Yankees. The Red Sox HAD this one player named Johnny Damon who was fairly good at what he did besides having really nice looking hair and was very charismatic about being on the team. He had a huge fan base. Well, Red Sox fans everywhere found out this morning that Johnny Damon accepted a 52 million, 4-year contract with the Yankees, meaning he declined a paltry 40 mil contract with the Red Sox. So, for 12 million more, he's signed up with the very team of which the Red Sox are the most rivaled against! It's shocking and terrifying and disappointing and I can no longer call him my hero. To make matters worse, he's building a house on the peninsula across from the one I live on (hence the "across the water" reference in the post), which can be seen from the area I live in. So basically, I'm a disgruntled former fan
( ... )
Hahhahahahaha....The Yankees were irresistible. I cant blame him for coming over to the best team in the world. Sorry, honey, Damon has been Yankee-ized and he's loving every minute of it.
Hey, if he's willing to base team loyalty on $12 million, you can have him. He looked much cuter with the long hair, anyway.
You know I love you Keeks, in spite your Yankee-ness. How did you cope with the lack of public transportation, by the way? I'm sorry, refusing to run the subway system is not the best way to get respect.
Well, the Metro-North trains were one of the very few MTA transports that were running (Metro North was not part of the union that went on strike). It was a mess. NYC was a mob. Imagine thousands upon thousands of New Yorkers confused as to were to go in Grand Central Station, plus delays up the whazooo, plus rush hour. We managed for the 3 days it went on, but when we heard it was over, all New Yorkers rejoiced.
Yeah, I agree with u on the whole respect issue. We were the scapegoats in this all. The commuters who rely on MTA every single day were hit the hardest, in spite of this injustice or that injustice on the union workers' behalves. Hopefully, both sides will come to an agreement soon. in the meantime, long live MTA subways and trains! Whoo hoo!
