It was great of you to be there with here, I'm sure she really did appreciate it. It took great strength.
Maybe she was in pain. Maybe she couldn't find the happiness in life anymore. You can't know for sure how she felt at the end, but I bet she felt comfortable being there with you. It is better to leave in peace with family, I think, than if she had had great pain and died alone curled up in a corner in the house.
She's looking down on you from heaven, I guarantee. Thanking you and wishing the same peace and good wishes that you're wishing her.
I really hope so. I never knew something could be so hard to do. I'm surprised I didn't faint from hyperventilating while I cried. You know that kind? The kind you can't stop yourself even if you tried? I think I've only cried like that a couple of times

Yeah, I know that kind of crying. I had that when one of my friends died. Death is never a gentle or pleasant creature.
If, and I mean if she wasn't in pain, it's not as though death hurt her. She was comfortable and with you, and then she drifted off and was in heaven. I mean, seriously, I pray to God that I have a send off that lovely.
I think that God doesn't want us to take our own lives prematurely, but I also believe God doesn't want us to be in pain if we don't have to be. There is no dr.assisted suicide in the US. In the UK and other countries, a person can petition the government to be put to sleep if they are in a lot of pain and either choose not to be treated or when treatment has failed. Also, in the US, people can choose to refuse treatment for things like cancer which, without treatment, will surely kill them. Knowing that, then yes, animals pretty much are the same as humans. But since they don't have as strong a voice for themselves, they rely on you, as their caretaker and friend, to do what is right for them, even

Thank you so much for your kind words. I will always have trouble with this, I think. But I also hope to think more about what I was able to do for her and the positives.
I hope you have some small idea of how much your comment really touched me. I really, really appreciated your thoughts and I will probably write more as time goes on about this. So thank you.
