The greatest way to live with honor in this world is to be what we pretend to be.

I'm seriously just feeling numb. I just dunno what to do anymore I'm so tempted to just give up and forget it. I basically failed all my midterms and my actual second quarter grades aren't that great. I just don't know what to do about it either. I'll never get into the schools I want to go to. I really should work harder and study more, but ( Read more... )

Just a thought: perhaps the talking/reading/goofing in class should be diminished a bet, yes?
But if this isn't really "distracting" you, then perhaps you should take easier classes or something of the like. Its not that hard to do well in school. You don't even need to study unless academics are very hard for you (which they aren't). Maybe you just need to refocus what you aiming for. Is it for the social things? Or for others? Nonetheless, these are just some suggestions.

*grumbles something about people stealing her emotions* xD Yeah, I know the feeling! Especially with Biology...lipid bilayers and polypeptides and glycogen were all gobbledeegook to me for the longest time. Then one afternoon I got reaaaaaaallly annoyed so I just sat down with my book and read those sections over. And over. And over again. This is a pointless thing to mention but I also realized that I love to make those little tree diagrams with the branches to sort out information!...Anyways, the point is, is that it's not about doing well on the tests or whatnot (although those are very, very, very good things). Just reading the books through and making yourself understand anything and everything--well, that's more than enough prep. you need, really. And the things we're learning now are going to come in handy in the future--you never, ever, EVER know, right? So you might as well make yourself get all caught up in the excitement of all the possibilities (like going to the awesome colleges you want), and use that hyperness ( ... )

One thing you could do is have a more optimistic attitude and to stop calling yourself stupid, because thats not helping anything.
You are a very smart girl. But you should not become a workaholic. Don't overwork yourself. If you don't let yourself have fun, you'll be miserable. I'm not saying to drop all your work, just really think hard, even pray for guidance, to find what you're interested in. Because once you find something that you like, you can focus on that. I'm sorry if I'm not making sense, that's not something I'm very good at.

Well first you "get rid of" all the smart ass geniuses (if you know what I mean *wink wink*nudge nudge*)

You know I used to have the same feelings..Then I started working harder, paying more attention in class (even the really boring, meaningless ones), getting my homework done before I do anything else, giving up doing things with friends (not everything, you still gotta have fun) but a lot of times when everyone else is going to so and so's house to hang out, I'm at home reading history or working on a science project. You just have to learn how to manage your time as best you can and figure out what study habits will actually help you study instead of seem pointless. Besides that...I dunno..cheat? lol
