So, I've been biking to and from most of my classes every day, which always involves swerving to avoid pedestrians and cars. I've had several near misses, and people often have to jump to get out of my way, throwing dirty glances as I pass. So... I just just got back from CHS for the CU honor band auditions. I think I did fairly well -- I actually played my scales well. The Mozart was a little iffy... but overall it sounded pretty good. Now the all-state audition on Wednesday was another story -- I completely spaced out on the high octave of the C scale. It was pretty bad ( Read more... )

So the GVCC had their concert last night... and I directed my composition. It was great! I didn't mess up or anything... although the piano came in earlier than I wanted it to, but whatever, it still worked. Wow. I'm really stupid. So I got up at 8ish this morning to go to work at 10. So when I went in, Shellie's like, "You're a little early." Turns out my shift is from 2-closing, not 10-6. My bad! Oh well, at least now I've got about 3 hours to kill before I actually have to go. Think I'll practice my flute and maybe do a bit of homework.

So this flute has been absolutely wonderful... I've got all the plugs out of the holes except for 2 of them. The tone is absolutely goregeous, I love it ( Read more... )

So, after years of wanting a new flute, I finally got one!!!!!! Mom and I went to Sherri Lee's today and looked at all the flutes. I finally settled on a Trevor James model. B foot, open holed, solid silver, C sharp trill key... it's amazing. Not to mention shiny. ^^ For only $2000... ouch... I'm not gonna be getting anything new for the next ( Read more... )
