I feel so grateful this evening for having this Mother's Day with my mom. It's hard to believe it's been less than a year since she had surgery for tongue cancer. I don't think I mentioned it here, but last month while I was waiting to make a left-hand turn, the front of my car was swiped by another car turning the opposite way that had just struck another car (that claim is in contention between the two insurance companies). I wanted to get some stuff from Lush at Aventura Mall, and mom surprised me by saying she wanted to go with me. Then she surprised me even more and said that dad wanted to go.
