Thanks again for the good wishes for my mom! The doctor did a biopsy today, and the tongue cancer is stage two which is bad but not the worst. She'll have to have half of her tongue removed, but they will reconstruct it with skin from her arm (!) Surgery is scheduled for December 11, which means she'll be able to have Thanksgiving dinner. Awhile back I mentioned I was worried about something to do with my mom. She had thought so for awhile, but today she found out for sure that she has tongue cancer and will have to have some of it removed. It feels strange calling this the end of summer since we have many more days of hot weather to go here in Florida, but with school back in session, it does feel like it's over.
