Hi - Thanks for commenting on Patrick's graduation. It was a joyous event in a wild week. When I started posting again, I promised myself I wouldn't retreat into lurkdom when RL got frisky. So I'm sharing a bit. Read on if you want.
Oh my dear,I'm so sorry to hear about your dad and your family situation! I hope you both have a good visit with him. And I'm sorry to hear about Mike too, and I'm glad he's changed his lifestyle for the better. Mike and I are the same age - is he your elder? I always thought of you and him as a unit, and never asked.
Actually, I'm the big sister. At 59, 4 years older and I've always felt very protective of him.
Yes, I'm glad he's stopped smoking, too. He'd tried before but always fell back. Now he chews gum like a maniac - but I don't care. More power to him! :o)
You're right to think of us as a unit. We've always supported each other - well, at least since I was 8 & he was 4. Had to have time for some sibling rivalry. That was the time I knew I'd have to take care of him.
I hope things will go well with the trip & visit. Just found out Dad is at home now - very tired, but home. That's a relief for all of us but especially Dad & his lovely wife, Phyllis.
