Interesting twist! One wonders what Azazel's motive is ;)
I was sorry to see Mary go, all three boys need her, poor things~ (I saw that you find it hard to write- I thought you did ok though, she's a slippery character in a lot of ways. Too much to her that you can't show, y'know?)
I'm more concerned about John's irrational behavior, though- that could get scary. Find the demon, protect the kids, and hide from the guy who can do both, and teach you to? That's going to come back and bite him, right?

You're right Mary is a very challenging character. I always ended up re-writing the parts with Mary a lot and I worried about not being able to do the character justice.

John's behaviour could get scary but everything he's going to do is going to be for the boys, and I don't plan on having him turn into the John from canon. The boys will still come before hunting. :)

Thank you so much for such a lovely comment. :) I'm really happy you enjoyed the story!
Even though I had decided fairly early on that I would be killing Mary at the end, I still found it sad when it came to writing that part.
I hope to have the first part of the sequel up soon!

I ran across this today, I didn't even realise you were posting on lj. I had been following this on ffnet up til the last couple chapters when I got behind. It was nice to get caught up again and find and ending as well! I was worried when you had quit updating, after such quick ones that you had lost sight of the story you were trying to tell. I'm glad that wasn't the case.

It was a great story and I love how you took this beginning, made it fresh and different but worked it back into Winchester history that we got a glimpse of in the show. Great planning,

Hey! I only just recently got lj account so I could post my J2 fanfic, and then I decided to upload my SPN fanfic here too. :)

I never meant to leave so long between updates, real life just got so complicated and stressful that I just couldn't write for a while. I was never going to just leave the story unfinished though, it just took me longer than I wanted to get it done. :)
