So G did not get the MA job he was after. It was down to 2 applicants and they said either one would have been great. Unfortunately they picked the other guy. Boo. One of the guys on the committee called him after that just to say how impressed they were by him and what a great job he did in the interviews etc and how he knew G would be great ( Read more... )

Woo, I get a gold star!

Sorry I never emailed you back, sucks that G didn't get the job and that it was almost like he was too qualified coming from the club he's at now. But it will be SO nice to have family around again, that will be huge.

You should totally look into buying, the market is so great right now for people who don't have to sell but can buy, you can probably get a great deal!

Ugh, their show is ending, have to run upstairs!

Yeah Im nervous about being stuck with something but renting is so expensive and places Ive seen online are in crappy shape. We going to try to low-ball something! Hope to see you soon!!!

Stinks that he didn't get the job he wanted, but at least you will be a lot closer to friends and family. House prices in CT are awful...well, at least in my city. We looked at a house 3 blocks from the beach last weekend, 3BR, 2bath that was only 192,500. Whenever I told someone, they all said, "What was wrong with it?" That is way underpriced for this area. Either there really was something wrong with it or it was snatched up quickly.

Anyway, sorry that G didn't get the job he wanted. Good luck with your move. When will it be taking place?

Yeah we found a few places online that are good prices. Hopefully we can get something for a really good price!!
Gs last day is Feb 20th so we'll be moving that week!

Sorry he didn't get the MA job, but yay on going back east. That's my dream, to go back east some day.

If you don't have to sell, now is a fantastic time to buy. Be careful though if you think you'll have to sell a new house in just a few years - they are warning that it's going to be a long while before the market picks up again. We are going to lose our shirts selling our current house!

I know its such a gamble but we're hoping to totally low-ball something and hopefully we wont lose $. Don't mind if we don't make anything. Yeah it does scare me but otherwise we can't afford the rent without me working and places for rent are not in good shape.

Sorry he didn't get the MA job but the CT job doens't sound like such a bad back-up. You are lucky to be moving back to the NE and being near friends and family. Hopefully this move will open up new doors for G in the next few years.
