Graduate school life via memes
I must admit it. I'm addicted to a website called What Should We Call Grad School. It's ridiculous, but it is fairly accurate at how I feel about grad school. This often makes me happy and sad for the same reason: other grad students feel the exact same way I do.

Crying out loud
Part of me is the kind that needs a good "cleansing" of the soul at times. A good, meaningful cry. By all means, it is not all of the time or everyday, but it does happen. One a day, takes the pain away
This weekend was an episode of the mighty Kate (plus 8) in Boston. The 8 include her housemates Alex and David, other out-of-town friends Elvis (CT), Lora (TX), Nathan (NY), and myself (NE), as well as in town friends: Karen and Meredith. Personality types
El and I started seeing a counselor together. We wanted to ensure that we were fully understanding each other, and it seemed like a natural transition. Hindsight, though, suggests that it probably would have been even better about a month or two ago. Regardless, it was good to be able to visit with our counselor twice before El shipped out again.
