Today is my birthday. Not doing anything that special. My birthday is a bummer every year it just gets worse. I'm just gonna treat it like any other day. I fought with my mom this morning. your message about how you think it's really awesome and strong of me to take my dad's call was so heartfelt. i didn't think that anyone would understand why i did that. but you totally did. i figure that life is too damn short to be upset all the time. yes, i'm upset with my dad, but like you said some time when i'm older i'll be glad i did let him wish me happy birthday. i'll admit that when my parents were going through the whole divorce thing, i let myself be influenced by how my mom thinks. granted, my dad isn't perfect-- but he is still my dad, and yes i do get angry with him, but sometimes you have to forgive and move on. i don't want to live with my heart full of anger and regret. hmmmph, boy i just spilled a mouthful, but i think that you totally get me; especially with all this drama that can go on living at home.
