A small Arguement Between Me and A Friend.

Feb 23, 2006 01:25

I'm a rather moderate Christian. I guess some views may even be considered liberal. I got into an argument with a friend, who I believe is a Fundamentalist Baptist. I consider myself a Moderate Non-Denominational. Either way, heres the argument. I try making a case that homosexuals can acheive salvation, He claims they cannot. Enjoy ( Read more... )

I love you. Let's get married and have really smart, accepting, Christ-like, great looking kids.

I'm so forward, it's ridiculous.

ahahaha

It's like a god/jesus follower civil war.

I love how his trump is "I'm praying for (your sinful ass)" and your response is "and I'm praying (for YOUR sinful ass bitch)"

I thought that was amusing "I'm praying for you, you poor heathen."

It makes it sound as if I'm some poor pagan withcdoctor.

Interesting. Your argument had superior logic.

I already sent you my thoughts via myspace which I cannot access from work *grumble grumble* but wanted to re-affirm that I like how you handled yourself and it's refreshing to see that people remember that whole forgiveness thing that Jesus was going for. It would be nice if people in life took on more forgivness and left the judgement to God. *shrugs*

All you can do is pray for them and hope they don't spread the hate.

Thanks a bunch. It's just insulting to see someone kick someone out of a house of God, because they continue to sin. Thats ridiculous. We all continously sin. Every one of us. If we didn't, we wouldn't need Jesus, yet we do. His sacrifice was to atone EVERY sin of EVERY person who believed.

The hate is just church politics.

Quite welcome... On a semi-related topic. I was reading a book on my lunch hour called "Science and Religion: Are They Compatibile?" Interesting read. Anyway, In one chapter the author talks about slavery and how the bible in many cases actually condones and supports it and the counter argument in cases to abolish slavery were that the bible did in fact allow it. I was wondering since you're more informed on the topic if you have found any evidence that could support or reject that? I bring this up on the topic that your friend speaks on various ideas in the bible that need to be enforced and if this is an issue that is supported by the bible, how does he feel about his God supporting slavery?

Just food for thought... I was rather suprised when I read the chapter, but like I said, I think the bible has been translated to meet the politics of the time.

Well are you saying that they can be saved and still live as Homosexuals or just simply that they can come to Salvation and be completely changed from that mindset and lifestyle?
