Book Review: Outliers: the Story of Success by Malcolm Gladwell

I couldn't wait for this book at work once I'd started reading the copy reserved for a patron on my breaks.  (Yes, we sample our wares.)  I had an errand at Target, so I looked there and there it was--ta-da!  I consumed it quickly.

I'm interested in reading this, too. I've read a review at the NPR site and another somewhere else (the New Yorker or Newsweek) - and now, after reading yours, I know I've got to lay hands on a copy.

As for what to spend 10,000 hours doing - hmmn, off the top of my head I must say that your stepfather definitely qualifies where pianos are concerned, and probably has for a good many years. Lately, also, I've been feeling more competent and confident than ever (I hope that "cocky" doesn't succeed "confident" - that would be bad) - but somehow, lately, it's been better, and now someone, such as the CU who came in the day after he'd been caught porn, is the type that I note, but given less aggravation than that, nothing that's going to get my goat.
