Off-topic-ness is most certainly welcome (as long as it doesn't get really out of hand - which I doubt would happen with a group this small). And plus... Ioan... *smirks*

I've had Arthur/Lancelot thoughts in my head LONG before the film was even announced, but I've never bothered getting into it because, "I need another fandom like I need a hole in my head." But regardless, I shall join your community because I just can't stop myself.

I'm a Ioan fan from way back; haven't seen Clive in very much. From the first pix of Ioan as Lance (can we say...HOTTTT?), my thoughts turned to slash. I've read the book of the screenplay and there are possibilities...though they would have to pre-date the film, or be during the film. Sigh... :-( But that's okay...

If you've heard a radio commercial lately for Jaguar (autos), that's Ioan. I thought it was, and I just confirmed it. Heh...

I first became aquainted with him through Horatio Hornblower and have since watched the Forsyte Saga as well (which I wasn't that fond of).

I'll keep an ear out for the commercial, I don't usually listen to the radio because it's as much drivel as is on the television - but I'm usually spot on at recognizing voices so I'll give it the risk. ^_^

I first discovered the lovely lad in Hornblower as well, and wrote much fanfic in the early Hornblower years. I'm also in lust with Robert Lindsay and Sam West and managed a menage or two. Since I remember the original Forsyte Saga in b&W, this was pretty poor in comparison. The actress playing Irene looked as if she was perpetually sucking pickles, and poor Ioan just looked uncomfortable. If you can find it to rent, I recommend watching Great Expectations, which aired here on PBS a year or so after the first Hornblower eps. It was a class production, and in one scene, Ioan actually made me cry.
