yes, but you don't have to give your real name to get tested or get results...so the state has data that a person has HIV, not the particular individual
Yeah, when I got my green card, I was tested for HIV. Sadly, with additional research I've done, it's still on the books that I could be deported if I were ever diagnosed, and it's now up to the current administration to remove it from the health hazards list. It took having a Democratic majority in both the house and senate to get it removed.
Totally absurd. Yeah, it took getting a Democratic majority in both the House and the Senate to get to the floor though. Sadly, with additional research, I found out it's up to the US Dept of Health run by the current administration to actually remove HIV from the restricted list. At least they have the opportunity to do so now when it would have been illegal before. It may just have to wait until the next administration comes in though.
