I was not using the term "gay" in regards to my sexuality. As I'm sure you are familiar, our classmates in the 90's frequently used "gay" as a synonymous adjective to "lame." As a non-homophobe, using the word "gay" in a pejorative manner mocks those who actually attach hatred to the term and leaves its meaning open for definition.

But as much as I'd like to see the word reclaimed by respectful persons I am probably just perpetuating negative feelings... so I'llllll shut my trap
