Bryn was looking forward to this. After everything that had happened, a party was exactly what would get her mind off of things. More than that, she'd dumped her original costume in favor of something else. Sure, it was a little revealing and she had dumped the strange hair accessories that had come with it, but in the end Bryn couldn't resist the way the soft white leather fit her. When she looked in the mirror, she actually felt pretty which wasn't something that happened often. Bryn took time to do her hair and make up, and by the end she was more than pleased with the result.
So, full of confidence, she didn't peek into the room and slide in trying to stay unnoticed, but strode in with the corners of her lips drawn up in a hopeful smile.
Bryn's confindence was noticed by the fallen arch-angel. It didn't take long for him to step past several people to greet her.
"Good evening," he started. "You look rather lovely."
He figured a compliment was the best way to get a conversation going. Sandrath did consider offering an arm for her to take, but it wouldn't be a surprise if she chose not to indulge him with words.
Bryn looked at the new-comer with slightly wide eyes. He was handsome, and complimentary, which might have been points in his favor had it not been for Mads. Appearances were deceiving, especially on a night like tonight.
Of course, with her confidence as it was, she wasn't alarmed, so much as cautious. She offered him a quick smile and looked down at her costume briefly before answering.
"Good evening, and thank you," she said. "Your costume looks very nice as well."
Excuses bubbled to mind immediately. She hadn't learned the dances. She could only play for them. She might step on his feet... None of them sounded gracious or enough to warrant saying no.
"If you like, I can at least give it my best effort," she managed after a moment, giving him a slightly apologetic smile. "The dances aren't familiar to me."
"Don't worry about it. We can just go at our own pace and with what we know." He reassured. "It might look weird, but at least we will be enjoying ourselves."
He wondered if she preferred the slow dances or the fast ones.
Bryn took his arm, committed to her acceptance of the dance, but she felt a bit less apprehensive about it with his words. She could enjoy the dance. She didn't have to over think it, right?
"Well considering I don't know any of them, that should make this interesting, to say the least. Hopefully we'll...pick it up quickly enough," she offered.
"So, where exactly are you from? You just arrived, yes?"
Not at all. He found a spot for them to stand on the dance floor.
"Then I assume we should start off slow and work our way up?" He offered before taking her hand. "...Mostly Earth and you would be correct about just arriving."
Bryn looked at the dancers, doing their set like an elaborately choreographed scene, and shook her head.
"I think it's more like a swimming pool. We might as well just jump in the deep end," she said, and used his hand in hers to try and tug him into the mix.
"And mostly Earth? Do you mean there were other places you were as well?" she asked, unable to contain her curiosity.
"Yes, I am serious." He informed with a deadpan expression. "They're hidden. If I walked around with them out in broad daylight, my enemies would have an easier time of finding me."
"...there's been another woman here who's walked around with her wings for months. She's been perfectly safe," she said, wondering if Sandrath was trying to pull one over her head. "Besides, I don't think anyone comes or goes here without Lord Deior's say-so."
"I know, I've met her before." He stated with a small smile. "She and I are most likely from different worlds. Her kind has their wings exposed and mine tend to keep them concealed. Its a hard habit to break."
So, full of confidence, she didn't peek into the room and slide in trying to stay unnoticed, but strode in with the corners of her lips drawn up in a hopeful smile.

He glanced to those around him for a moment before returning his gaze to her. He tilted his head slightly to the dance floor.
"Care to dance?"

"Yes, but I doubt you would believe me if I told you."

"I'm friends with an alien, an ten foot tall robot, and shapeshifters," Bryn said with a wry smile. "Try me."

"What? Are you serious?" she asked, looking confused. "If that's true then...where are your wings?"
