Mini Event! the spider and the mistletoe

Across the Keep runs a rather large spider, scampering from building to building, room to room and carrying with him a decent sized branch of mistletoe. One might catch him skittering up a wall to build a web above a doorway, or stringing mistletoe up from various points on the ceiling.

Well. The past few days had been…pretty interesting but the company wasn’t bad, she had to admit.

Except she was really ready to be able to navigate the Keep and actually walk around instead of huddled near a fire with some of the staff. They were nice and all, but Raven was worried about Charles and she didn’t want to sit around. It had taken everything she had not to get up and go on a hunt for him.

In fact, that might be what she’s doing now, poking around the Keep in search of her brother, and for food.

"Yeah, I really have."

That's okay, right? He's not coming off as - no, it's definitely okay, because Raven's grinning.

Bobby grins back at her, though it turns a little sheepish at her last comment.

"Man, if I'd known that, I would've done it a lot sooner. I was just, kind of worried," he admits. "I didn't want to make things awkward."

"In case I said no?"

She smiled at him, and moved in a little.

"But you asked so everything is okay now."

Or at least, she thinks so.

"Pretty much, yeah. Nothing makes a friendship awkward faster than one have to turn down the other."

But he smiled back, and leaned in, slightly tentatively, to give her a quick, soft kiss.

"And you said yes, so everything's more than okay."

"Exactly. So -- there's no need to dwell on it, right?"

She's positively giddy. Having Bobby like her - really like her - is like getting the best gift ever. Her whole life she'd thought she wouldn't be able to find someone, let alone someone who wants her - prefers her, even - in her blue form.

"No need at all."

He'd had absolutely no idea this was going to happen. In all honesty, he still couldn't quite believe he'd actually gotten up the nerve to ask her out - though really, having her respond to him kissing her under the mistletoe had been a pretty good sign.

Maybe not everything weird that happened in this place was bad.

"So, um, I'll see you soon, then? For our date?"

"Yes. Definitely -- um. Just...call me. Or -- write, I guess. Write would be kind of a better way to put it, wouldn't it? Unless you really do call, because you can use voice--"

She's babbling, she knows it, and she shuts up, still smiling.

Bobby likes her babbling. It's really cute, and he smiles back at her.

"I'll video call you. We'll go as high tech as possible, just to counteract the setting."

She perks, and nods.

"Okay. Video call, then. I'm...really looking forward to it."

"Me too."

He smiles again.

"I'll talk to you soon, then."

And before he can talk himself out of it, he leans in to give her another quick kiss.
