Mini Event! the spider and the mistletoe

Dec 30, 2011 00:08

Across the Keep runs a rather large spider, scampering from building to building, room to room and carrying with him a decent sized branch of mistletoe. One might catch him skittering up a wall to build a web above a doorway, or stringing mistletoe up from various points on the ceiling.

He doesn't linger in any particular place for too long, save ( Read more... )

Well at least Kevas can say he finally moved, even if it was just from one bed to another. At least in the infirmary Kevas could get some constant medical attention instead of sitting in his bed and thinking happy thoughts hoping that would make him heal even faster.

However, unknown to him, was a little green plant that hung over him and his bed.

Talia had only let Kevas leave his room because he'd said he was going to the infirmary; and then he'd waited until she'd been otherwise occupied and left like the big strong troll he was... and promptly had to be saved by Nel.

Men.

However, she's intent on visiting him where he's laid up, so she makes her way to Sycora's infirmary.

Stepping into the door and seeing her husband, she smiles softly; and then her smile begins to grow as her eyes alight on a spring is mistletoe hanging above his bed.

"One might think you planned that..." she teases, stepping into the room.

Not all men were stubborn as a mule Talia, but your husband certainly was.

At least he told her first instead of just vanishing first. That was some progress, if only just a little. Of course he had to deal with getting the stink eye from Nel for a little while. Fortunately he didn't seem to be getting the same treatment from Talia.

Her comment drew a confused look out of him. "Planned what?" he asked as he looked around the room for what she was talking about. Finally he spotted the mistletoe hanging above his head and he couldn't help but grin.

"Oh that," he turned his gaze back on her. "Well I guess I'm just lucky. Now all I have to do is wait for the sexy nurse to come in."

Talia could go about this any number of ways, but truth told she knew nothing would be gained from almost any of them. What was done was done and there was no changing that, nor the grievous injuries that had been done to those involved.

Though she on no way condoned the actions her husband had taken, he was still her life bonded and she would not repudiate him.

At his wide grin and reply, Talia stops short of his bed, brows rising. "Oh?" she even manages to keep the amusement from her tone, although her hazel gaze retains it. She half turns back the way she came, "Should I leave then? I'd hate to interrupt..."

No more strange evil darkness meant no more reason to stay hidden in the stables. As much as he enjoyed spending time with Abeni he really wanted to move around. Sitting in one spot for that long without doing anything was really starting to make him antsy. Before he made a beeline for his forge though, he was going to head to the kitchens for something to eat.

Having been more than a little stir crazy through the persistent darkness, Iriel was just as anxious to give the Keep a good once-over. She was just passing by the kitchens when she caught sight of Zachariah, and jogged toward him a bit to catch up.

"Hey! Mouse!"

Zachariah gave an audible groan at his callsign. Still, he was happy to hear Iriel and know that she was safe. As capable as she was he was still worried about her. They had never faced anything like that strange darkness before.

He turned around and grinned at her. "Hey there Peaches."

Call him his embarrassing and he'll call her hers.

The difference was that hers wasn't embarrassing. She came to a stop and punched him lightly, affectionately, in the shoulder.

"Where are you off to?" she asked.

It's a futile search. He knows that much. If they haven't found her by now, the quarian is... gone. Other people vanished without coming back. Or... they died. But they always came back. Didn't they?

He stopped in the hallway, leaning against the wall for a minute. Just to take a quick break. That was all. Then he'd keep moving.

Of course she'd find him on the same mission, if from the opposite direction.

Shepard stopped, staying put while she looked him over for further signs of the exhaustion she suspected might be there. Then the commander resumed her march and made a beeline for her turian squadmate -- and the only member of her crew she's seen for several days.

"Figures we'd both be looking. Cover more ground this way, I guess."

He offered her his version of a smile when she approached -- a tired one, a concerned one, but a "smile" all the same. Even when they can't complete a mission, just knowing she's around helps boosts his morale a little.

"You holding up all right?" he asked.

Of course she'd say she was. At least, he thought she would. It was what he'd say. And what had he been doing the last few years, but modeling himself after her?

... what mistletoe? There was A Moment here.

He was right.

"'Course I am," she replied automatically, and then winced, looking past him as if somebody (maybe Tali) would come up from behind. Nobody came toward them. Naturally. Shepard rubbed the back of her neck, exhausted but full of anxious energy nonetheless.

As her head tilted back, the plant entered her line of sight. She stopped rubbing.

Just on his way to the kitchens. Don't mind him. He had to get away from that furry little demon thing he'd found in his room before it started speaking again. Hawke had the right idea -- throw it to the dog. Or, better yet, throw it to the lake.

Lakes didn't play fetch, after all.

Needless to say, Anders is completely unaware of all the greenery he's passing under. He's too busy considering whether or not he could magically weld the creature to Fenris before throwing it to the lake.

Alex whistles to himself, glad to be out of his room for a change now that the lights are back on and not threatening tunnel exposure. He'd been through that once and that had been more than enough to keep clear of them after the warning had been issued.

He'd heard Joe's entry, and it was amusing even if he'd never met Patty the spider. He'd settled his Christmas gifts in his room, sweater tucked away and furby on the small table near his bed.

He's ambling along, feeling just a bit peckish and pauses as a familiar figure catches his eye just ahead.

"Anders." he calls out to catch the man's attention, smile warming as he approaches.

He turns. At lease one thing has gone right, lately. Neither of them have ended up dead or mangled. The smile on his face is real, and he stops in the middle of the hallway.

"I was wondering where you'd gone to."

Feeling very much the same, the Were inhales deeply as he approaches his Mage, glad to see him hale and well. It was kind of frightening how often they found each other broken or bleeding and that such was comparatively normal. Of late, Alex was rather enjoying keeping himself intact and was more than pleased that Anders appeared to be doing the same.

Seeing that smile, warm and genuine, makes Alex all the happier to have run into him.

"At your request, dearheart, and in respect to myself, I was keeping myself healthy and whole." He comes to a halt before the Mage, posture relaxed as his nostrils flare again, taking in the familiar scent of the man before him. Grinning he gives a casual twirl, arms aloft as he shows himself just so.

"You managed the same?"

Sollux was rather uncertain what to make of Joe's post, but he had managed to get two important things from it: Avoid spiders and avoid strange green plants.

Its too bad he's not paying that much attention to the ceilings and doorways.

But he's got to be paying more attention than Toph.

"Hey! You got out!"

Not that she was worried.

Well, he can see the things, there is that.

He pauses as she talks to him, and turns to face her. "Uh...yeah. They spit everybody out when dawn finally arrived or some shit."

"Well that was random."

About as random as the gifts they'd got, but whatever. She wasn't going to complain about free stuff.

"You didn't meet any giant owls or weird fox things?"

Hey, it could always be spirit world shenanigans!
